3 Things You [Probably] Don't Know About Shower Panels

When it comes to selecting shower walls, durability and low maintenance are often top considerations. But cast marble shower panels offer more than that. In this post, we're going to explore three lesser-known traits of this material that could tip the scales in your decision-making process.

#1: You Can Install Them Over Tile

Did you know that you don't always have to rip out old tile walls when installing our shower wall panels? If your tiles are in good condition, you can simply install the panels right over them. This saves time and money during the installation process. Give your property a fresh, updated look without the hassle of tearing everything out.

There are a few things to keep in mind when installing over tile. First, make sure there isn’t any moisture behind the wall and that the tile is securely attached to the substrate. And we ALWAYS recommend having a certified installer look at the existing shower beforehand for expert advice. They should tell you whether or not it’s suitable to install the panels over tile.

#2: There Are Textured Options

Most shower walls you’ve seen probably had somewhat of a flat, shiny appearance. Cultured marble, however, is capable of creating texture. This allows us to create authentic grout lines, and it opens the door to breathtaking designs. Some of these can even surpass the confines of conventional tile.

Textured panels can add tactile richness to the bathroom that standard flat tiles or panels can't match. Whether you opt for a bold geometric pattern or a soft wave design, the shadows and highlights created by textured walls can make your shower a standout feature.

#3: They're Not One-Size-Fits-All

Mincey’s cast marble panels are oversized and cut onsite, so they can fit almost any shower or tub. These large pieces also make it easier to cover large areas without visible seams. This creates a consistent look and eliminates the need for grout, which can be difficult to clean and maintain. These large sheets also make installation much easier. No cutting tiles or grouting! In most cases, it also means you can extend the panels to the ceiling for a spacious, spa-like feel.
